There is a lot of debate if Apple totally ripped off Konfabulator when Apple revealed that they would include something called Dashboard. People say that Apple screwed the creators of Konfabulator when they did this. Lets see, the Konfabulator guys realized that Mac OS X did not include Desk Accessories, something that been with the Mac OS since the beginning of 1984. So they created a software that makes it really easy to make Desk Accessories with JavaScript. Now Apple has decided to make Desk Accessories available again, but using a modern way of doing it. So the Konfabulator guys copies Apple, and Apple copies the Konfabulator guys. That’s called Development!, Development!, Development!
There’s also a debate if Apple stole the idea for Spotlight from programs like LaunchBar and Quicksilver. That’s plain stupid. LaunchBar is a program launcher. Spotlight is a search engine for finding information.
I can understand that smaller developers get upset when Apple “Borrows” the features, like when they included features in Sherlock that the program Watson had. But lets face it, Watson is still better then Sherlock. So the end user is to gain…

All right: but after seeing Dashboard I looked for Konfabulator - I liked it and I bought it! To support them before Tiger and because I love my mac but justice too. When Apple releases Tiger, i will probably get a better application but not a better feeling

Yeah, I also bought Konfabulator. But I stopped using it because it drained to much batteries on my powerbook.
